‘Mother and birthplace are more precious than heaven’
The Nepal Women’s Community Service Center, established in 2050, aims to protect women’s existence and self-respect, ensuring their representation and opportunities at family and national levels. Founded by women who believe in social justice and gender equality, the organization seeks equal and meaningful participation of women in the nation’s development. Post-democracy restoration, there was a pressing need for youth involvement in building a society free from discrimination and oppression. Thus, seven female students legally established the organization in 2050, aiming to create an educated, independent, and self-supporting women’s society. They studied women’s socio-economic, cultural, and political conditions and launched campaigns to enhance women’s access to education, income, and rights. In 2060, the organization received a financial mediation license from Nepal Rastra Bank, connecting 60,000 marginalized families and women to saving habits and professional business practices, enabling women to earn through small enterprises. This led to positive family impacts, with women investing equally in their children’s education, nutrition, and health. Women’s participation in family decision-making processes increased, fostering sustainable income sources and boosting their self-respect and leadership in society. The organization also engages in social responsibility initiatives, such as mobile health services, blood donation camps, and educational support. I extend heartfelt gratitude to the youth, children, women, media, government agencies, partner organizations, board members, employees, and international NGOs for their support. With their continued cooperation, the organization has positively impacted around 200,000 families and will keep playing a vital role in the nation’s development. Thank you.
