Introduction:

The Nepal Women Community Service Center has embarked on a pioneering venture with the establishment of a Green shop Platform. This initiative serves as a crucial conduit, connecting farmers and consumers, with a specific focus on the distribution and sale of agricultural and animal products cultivated and manufactured by our esteemed members. In this narrative, the organisation delve into the profound significance of this Green shop and its pivotal role in amplifying agricultural productivity, advancing equitable trade practices, and fostering symbiotic collaborations within our ecosystem.

Programme Objectives:

The Green Shop Platform operates with a set of well-defined objectives:

  • The primary objective of the Green shop Platform is to enhance agricultural productivity by providing technical guidance and consultancy to members, leading to the creation of an efficient product management platform.
  • Another key goal is to empower both farmers and consumers by effectively marketing products from the organization and its members, thus strengthening the agricultural ecosystem through the Green shop.
  • The programme aims to streamline the value chain for agricultural products, particularly those cultivated by Green shop members, facilitating direct transactions between producers and consumers while eliminating intermediaries.
  • Within the Green shop, the objective is to support the cultivation and trade of a diverse range of agricultural products, including staples, spices, and pulses, crafted meticulously from raw materials to meet consumer demands.

Programme Activities:

The Green shop Platform engages in several key activities to achieve its objectives, including but not limited to:

  • Technical Assistance: Providing essential technical support and consultation to the members for optimizing agricultural practices.
  • Product Marketing: Effectively marketing a wide range of agricultural and animal products from both the organization and its members.
  • Value Chain Management: Streamlining the value chain to facilitate direct transactions between producers and consumers, eliminating unnecessary intermediaries.
  • Diverse Agriculture: Cultivating and trading a diverse array of agricultural products, including staples, spices, and pulses.
  • Dairy Collection and Distribution: Collecting and distributing dairy products, including milk, curd, and paneer, to consumers at equitable prices.

Programme Achievements:

In pursuit of these objectives, the Green shop has achieved significant milestones. Significantly, the Green shop has undertaken a pivotal role in strengthening dairy production. With a daily collection totalling 300 litres from diverse dairy production zones, this initiative has not only ensured the efficient allocation of milk to members’ accounts but has also facilitated the creation of dairy products such as curd, paneer, and various culinary offerings. These products are made available to consumers at fair and equitable prices, emphasizing our unwavering commitment to sustainable agriculture, fair trade practices, and community empowerment.
